Lalabanan na ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) ang posibleng cyber attacks sa kanilang mga data na maaaring magi­ging dahilan ng pagkaparalisa ng operasyon nito sa pamamagitan ng paggamit ng FireEye Managed Defense and FireEye Email Threat Protection (ETP) Cloud.

Sinimulan ang implementasyon  o paggamit nito noong  nakaraang Mayo 14  ng taong kasalukuyan.

Ang FireEye Managed Defense ay isang uri ng system na magbibigay ng totoong oras sa computer system para madaling ma­kita sa BOC.

Kaakibat din nito ang Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) at cloud infrastructure.

Ang implementasyon ng FireEye Managed Defense, FireEye Email Threat Protection ay bilang pampuno sa kakulangan nito ng ahensiya  para na rin sa  ikagaganda ng operasyon sa kabuuan.

Magsisilbing ‘frontline intelligence’ ang security platform na magbibigay ng kaalamang may kaugnayan  ukol sa  cyber attacks.

Poprotektahan din nito ang mga  emails na magpapadala ng ‘ransomware, sender impersonation, and credential harvesting exploits’.

“The subscription to the security platform comes as a part of the 10-Point Priority Program of the Bureau of Customs. This new security system shall serve a crucial role in delivering quality service while at the same time protecting vital information concerning brokers, stakeholders, and personnel,” ayon pa sa pahayag ni Commissioner Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero.
